On April 17th, NW Education Cluster members had the opportunity to hear about Accelerate Oregon, a statewide initiative that leverages public and private commitment to Oregon’s K12 education system to improve teaching and learning through the integration of technology.
Accelerate Oregon will bring a replicable model for assessment, planning, and funding to school districts across Oregon, beginning with ten districts and then expanding statewide. By way of leveraged resourcing, public and private sector stakeholders are providing the seed money and in-kind support to finalize and deploy the Accelerate Oregon model.
Part of Accelerate Oregon’s offering is matching districts’ needs with solutions providers in Oregon. The solutions will fit into four primary categories: Leadership Support, Network and Infrastructure, Tools and Content, and Finance Modeling. The NW Ed Cluster, as a consortium of education technology providers, are invited to participate in a detailed discussion of Accelerate Oregon, and to begin the dialogue of how the Cluster’s comprising companies and organizations can participate in Accelerate Oregon’s mission to help prepare our students for post-secondary work, school and life.
