KC Distance Learning is a growing, for profit education company that
provides online learning opportunities to high school students. Our markets include homeschoolers,
schools and school districts in all 50 states and around the world. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for implementing day-to-day
activities for KC Distance Learning’s marketing department. This includes sustaining
and outbound marketing activities for direct mail, print, email, web &

DIRECTOR
OF MARKETING Insight Schools,
Inc. partners with school districts and community organizations to build statewide,
full-time, diploma-granting, online public high schools. Through our growing
network of tuition-free schools, we are educating high-school-age youth who,
for a variety of reasons, need an alternative to the traditional public high
school experience. Our team of online
education experts excels at connecting and managing the critical functions of
online high schools. Insight is a
rapidly growing company with a dynamic fast-paced, culture. Description:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for attracting and retaining
students for Insight-operated schools and the presentation of the company as
a whole. The Director of Marketing will be a meaningful contributor to the
company’s strategy. Reports to Vice
President of Operations & Marketing; position located in Portland, OR;
some travel required. Responsibilities: -
Design,
develop, and manage to execution multiple enrollment campaigns for Insights’
state-wide online high schools.
Campaigns include initial market sizing and research, budget development,
messaging, partner/agency/vendor selection, collateral development, website
development, outreach efforts, brand development, lead cultivation and
conversion. A prime focus is on
yearly or semi-annual enrollment efforts with additional efforts to retain
students. -
Support the
company’s overall marketing efforts as it relates to securing new partners in
new states and the company’s overall presence. Work with and in support of the company’s business development
efforts to identify partners to build online high schools. -
Design,
messaging, management, and branding of all Insight (school and company)
marketing collateral, including website(s), public relations stories, print
pieces, media placements, web placements, messaging, and other collateral. Abilities: Ability to balance
strategic thinking with practical application. Welcomes accountability and
obsesses about results; ability to use data to work towards, measure, and
achieve tangible goals. Can effectively
assess, size, and approach a market, digest and evaluate competition, and
synthesize to develop a workable position.
Ability to incorporate actionable data when it exists and imperfect
information when necessary. Creative thinker
-- able to position Insight service/School to multiple and distinct market
segments. Forward thinking in how
development of service/School must move with student/family/partner needs. Ability to work
effectively at a distance with multiple contributors. Communicates well in writing and verbally
-- excellent planner. Able to design and
implement successful marketing campaigns to consumers. Ability to oversee more than one
multi-channel marketing campaign at the same time. Able to manage
advertising agencies, public relations vendors, and other partners towards
company/School objectives. Skills/Requirements: Direct experience
in marketing in a business-to-consumer setting in an environment with
accountability and measurable results. Direct experience
in several (not all) marketing channels including: earned media, paid media (print, radio, television), web
marketing (paid, search, placements), and events. Masters degree
(preferred) and/or several years experience in marketing directly to
consumers. Marketing in the education
sector preferred, but not required.
Direct experience in web marketing preferred. Direct experience
in working with advertising and public relations agencies. Direct experience
in attracting, informing, and converting leads. Ability to manage
people. Standard software
packages. Excellent presentation
